Chaplain address

It is with joy and gladness that I welcome you to All Souls’ Chapel, Obafemi Awolowo Uinversity, Ile-Ife where worshipers enjoy the fullness of God’s blessings regularly. The Chapel is an interdenominational worship centre for all followers of Christ with a conducive physical and spiritual atmosphere that promotes the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. It is free from discrimination (of any type), racism, tribalism, nepotism among others.
Over the years, the Chapel has evolved as an independent Christian gathering that caters for all classes of people including children and youth; men and women; students and staff at different levels. It was established mainly to nurture and promote fellowship among people on campus, thereby extending God’s kingdom in the University and her immediate environment.
As a Chaplain, I am totally committed to the vision and mission of our founding fathers, the guiding rules of the Chapel Council and the entire congregation under the influence of the Holy Spirit. I shall be devoted to preaching the undiluted word of God that brings about liberation and blessings upon people. It is also incumbent on me to leverage on the dynamic worship platform instituted through the help of the Holy Spirit to promote the general wellness of members and the entire University community.
One of the strengths of All Souls’ Chapel is the existence of team spirit and various service units where members are encouraged to fulfill their ministries and maximize their potentials without being coerced to do so. In addition, there are several spiritual activities that are soul lifting and impactful which are capable of developing people wholly.
I therefore, encourage you to be a part of God’s plan to turning things around for better in our generation.
On behalf of the entire Congregation and Chapel Council, you are invited to fellowship with us and grow in the atmosphere of love and righteousness.
Thank you.

Council chairman address

“The Lord has done great things for us, whereof we are glad and grateful”
I joyfully welcome all the congregants of All Souls’ Chapel, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, our fathers in the Lord, especially our Chaplain, the Very Reverend (Dr.) Segun O. Babalola, and other persons that have the privilege to visit this website.
Information technology is the order of the day, especially for making organisations like our Chapel known around the globe – what it stands for, our various worship services, outreach programmes, information on the Chapel’s activities and those of its members, as well as opportunities and benefits available to both members of the congregation and even persons who do not worship with us.
I wish to appreciate members of the Torch Bearers’ Fellowship of the Chapel who took the first strides at initiating and establishing the very first website for the Chapel a few years ago. The website has now been upgraded and merged into this newly floated website, which is hosted by the University. I wish to show, through this medium and on behalf of the Chapel Council, my gratitude to the University – through the Information Technology and Communication Unit (INTECU), for hosting our website. I also appreciate members of the Technical and Media Teams of the Chapel who worked assiduously to make the website a reality. I specially congratulate our Chaplain, who gave all the spiritual and ‘verbal’ support to all those who worked to get this website running, on the successful launch of the website.
I invite members and non-members of our Chapel to visit and make the utmost use of our website. It is my earnest belief that the website will further expand the work and propagate the gospel and teachings of our Lord, Jesus, both in our local environment and the world at large.
Our God is good and faithful all the time.
Shalom,
Prof. ‘Lara Orafidiya, 1st April, 2024
